3 Super Easy and Delicious Arabic Chicken Kebab Recipe

Arabic Grilled Chicken Kebab

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ⅛ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • Zest from one lemon
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1-¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2-½  to 3 pounds boneless chicken, cut into 1-½ -inch pieces
  • 1 large red onion, cut into 1 ½ -inch pieces
  • Vegetable oil, for greasing the grill


In a medium mixing bowl, mix yogurt, pepper, cinnamon, cumin, red pepper flakes, olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and garlic. Then prick the chicken onto skewers with red onions, fold if the pieces are long and thin. Place the kabobs on a baking sheet; Coat the chicken with the marinade, refrigerate for eight hours or overnight. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, grease with oil, grill the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, turning the skewers occasionally, 13-15 minutes.

Chicken Shish Taouk

  • 1.5 cups of plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 8-10 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs of fresh oregano
  • ½  tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½  tsp salt
  • 2 lb of boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1 ½ -inch pieces


In a bowl, mix the first 8 ingredients, then add the chicken, cover and refrigerate to marinate for 3 hours or overnight. Prick the chicken on large skewers, prepare a baking sheet, and place the skewers on the rack. Broil in the oven in medium heat for 4 minutes, turning occasionally, then broil again for 4 minutes. You can also grill the kebabs on a gas or charcoal grill.

Chicken Kafta Kebab


  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • ¼ cup parsley finely chopped
  • ½ small yellow onion finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove pressed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper


In a large bowl, mix the ground chicken, parsley, onions, garlic, and all spices; Combine the mixture with your hand, use oil if needed, keep aside for 2 hours. Form the kebab mixture into 1 inch thick oblong shapes, press into skewers. Coat the grill with oil, heat at medium to high heat, and place the kebabs on the grill for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.


The best part about preparing these Arabic chicken kebab recipes is that the ingredients required are easily available in your kitchen, which also makes the dishes effortless because if you needed Arabic special ingredients then the preparation wouldn’t be easy.

Another plus point is that if you don’t have grills or an oven then simply cover the kebabs with kitchen foil and put on your gas oven top, turn them occasionally, cook for 5 minutes.
